Palliative Care NP
Location: Cheyenne Wyoming
Description: Earthglow Inc. is currently seeking to employ Palliative Care NP right now, this position will be placed in Wyoming. The locums NP will work primarily 8 hour days during the day, 5 days a week and will provide provider consult visits to palliative care patients in the outpatient setting â€" nursing home, assisted living centers, and in their home. They occasionally need to meet with patient and family after hours, but that is not a regular occurrence â€" and then they would just shift their work hours for that day.
Our service area is Laramie County â€" approximately 40 mile radium however the majority of our patients are within the city limits of Cheyenne. This NP will also assist with weeknight and weekend call. Most of the weeknight call is phone triage. During the weekend, there will also be visits to the palliative care inpatients on service. The NP’s also occasionally assist with inpatient visits if needed but their primary role is outpatient. They do need to be privileged with our hospital medical staff office because they will see inpatients. That is not required for outpatient. In Wyoming, NP’s are independent practitioners, so that is how they practice in the outpatient setting. The NP will have to be licensed by the State of Wyoming as an Advance Practice Nurse and will need a DEA license to prescribe. No specific certifications required. We reimburse for mileage at the IRS allowable rate for patients seen in the community.
