The Cheyenne, WY VA Medical Center provides primary and secondary inpatient services in medicine and surgery as well as outpatient services in medicine, surgery and psychiatry. The Medical Center also supports a 50-bed Nursing Home Care Unit. Cheyenne maintains a Regional Office on the grounds of the Center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colorado, and Sidney, Nebraska. Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Must pass pre-employment examination.

DUTIES:
As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist you will deliver comprehensive anesthesia care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods. Such anesthesia care includes the interviewing of patients and completion of a medical history; conducting a pertinent physical exam; ordering and reviewing pertinent radiological, laboratory and other diagnostic studies prior to surgery; analyzing subjective and objective data with clinical expertise to define potential anesthesia problems; formulating an appropriate anesthesia plan based on both surgical case requirements and individual patient needs; recording pertinent information according to established documentation guidelines; and administering and managing a variety of anesthetic including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care. The CRNA should also have basic skills in pain management evaluations and procedures; should be skilled in the management of general invasive monitoring; and should have outstanding competence in airway management under both emergent and non-emergent circumstances.
Recruitment/Relocation expenses will not be reimbursed.
Tour of Duty: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. first week of the pay period.
Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. second week of pay period.
Call required 1-2 weeks per month (not in house).
The applicant selected for this position may be eligible to apply for an education loan reimbursement award under the provisions of the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). EDRP repays up to $60,000 in education loans for newly-appointed health care professionals in certain hard to fill occupations. Education loans must be used to pay for courses that directly lead to qualification for an appointed position.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Citizen of the United States.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia . In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
Must be proficient in spoken and written English .
