Manager, Clinical Salary: Grade 24 $34.04 - $44.26/hr (midpoint) Facility: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Department: ICU Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day shift Hours: 8! -5 Contact Information: Contact: Brad WiegelEmail: THIS EMAIL Job Details: BSN Required ROLE SUMMARY Under direction of the Director, The Clinical Manager has 24 hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care outcomes in a designated unit. The nurse manager has authority to make decisions on the unit and the responsibility and accountability for the nursing staff and the delivery of patient care. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Provides leadership, guidance, and support to all direct reports. Serves as a role model and coach for service excellence and patient experience.

Assures an environment of teamwork and collaboration by fostering effective positive communications, giving and receiving feedback, and modeling the behaviors of honesty, integrity, and trust. Demonstrates excellent professional and clinical skills, utilizing the nursing proces! s to facilitate the direct and indirect care necessary to meet! patient needs and improve outcomes. Rounds on all patients on a daily basis. Assists the nursing staff in the delivery of direct patient care as needed.

Supports the principles of Relationship Based Care. Provides oversight and ensures the smooth operation of the unit in collaboration with the Director. Prepares the staffing, operating, and capital budgets annually. Monitors monthly financial reports to ensure the unit remains within established budget.

Ensures that scheduling provides appropriate staff coverage for the unit. Assures that the workload is utilized appropriately. Interviews, hires, and supervises/facilitates orientations for all new employees. Promotes ongoing staff development and collaboration with the staff in the competency process.

Promotes a culture of safety and quality. Maintains a safe environment for the patients, families, and staff. Assures that the National Patient Safety Standards are fully met. Collaborates with the ! medical staff to ensure the highest level of care for specific patient populations.

Collaborates with the nursing staff and director to resolve patient, family, or physician complaints in coordination with service excellence and patient satisfaction standards. Maintains professional standards by integration of the American Nurse Associations Scope & Standards of Practice, assuring that these standards are identified as the measurement criteria for nursing practice on the unit. Completes mandatory staff in-services, education and contact education requirements including 20 CEUs per year. 8.

Must comply with department or unit regulatory, licensing and accreditation requirements DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RESOURCE POOL AND PROCEDURAL UNITS: Provides supervision to nursing staff in the Resource Pool, the staffing office, endoscopy, and interventional radiology. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Good communication skills as defined through our behavio! r standards. Attention to details; ability to assess, evaluate, explain! , teach, problem solve using critical thinking and perform calculations within the scope of duties. Able to handle many stressors simultaneously.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree from an accredited school of nursing (effective June 1, 2012) RN licensure in the State of Wyoming BLS Specialty certifications as required per department: o ACLS required for Cardiac Rehab, Endoscopy, and Same Day Surgery o ACLS and PALS required for PACU o ACLS and PALS or ENPC required for Telemetry o ACLS and TNCC required for Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit. PALS or ENPC required within one year of hire. o ACLS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC required for ICU o ACLS and NRP required for Labor & Delivery o ACLS, NRP, ALSO, and PALS or ENPC required for Womens and Childrens Services o TNCC and CNOR required for Operating Room o Completion of de-escalation training within three months of hire required for Behavioral Health o Drivers license and proof of automobile insurance ! required for Hospice Minimum of 3 years experience in an acute care setting or related field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Masters degree from an accredited school of nursing Prior management/staffing experience
