Deputy Controller is a controllership and accounting role responsible with ensuring financial statements for small, less complex EMEA entities (Italy, Germany, Russia and Australia) are accurate and complete. In this role, you will coordinate with key business stakeholder such as: C2C team, AP Team, ISC Finance, all the other global entity controllers for intercompany accounting, Deloitte for internal audit, KPMG for tax compliance, Mazars for statutory accounts, warranty team, pricing team, tax, treasury, etc. You will manage a team comprised of 1 accountant.
This role is focused on less complex entity, with reduced, limited manufacturing activities mostly administrative entities or dormant entities meant to prepare the employee for taking over in 2 years time more complex entities that have complex production and business relationships.
Responsibilities:
Full ownership of financial statement preparation according to USGAAP and local Statutory accounting requirements for the legal entities in AUS, IT, DE and RU
- Responsible for executing financial activities according to accounting policy and corporate standards
- Executing Month/Quarter/Year end close related activities for assigned entities as per close calendar
- Supervision of Monthly / Quarterly / Yearly reporting schedules
- Oversight and responsibility of Balance Sheet account reconciliation processes and activities, reviewing reconciliations as per policy
- Coordinate activities with external statutory services provider
- Support external and internal audits including any local authority audits
- Ensure SOX compliance for assigned control processes
- Responsible for executing process improvement initiatives driven by the COE / Country / Regional / Global controllership teams
- Respond timely to inquiries or requests for information from other functional and non-functional stakeholders
- Assist in development and implementation of new and/or enhanced procedures and automation to drive efficiency and optimize the workflow of the department, supporting continuous improvement
- Assist in regional and global projects as requested from time to time
- Lead and manage the General Accounting team members for assigned entities

Education :
- University Degree in Accounting/Economics/Finance
- Professional qualified accountant (ACCA; CIMA etc)
Experience :
- 5 years minimum of experience in accounting, preferably gained within an international company
- Relevant manufacturing industry experience desired
- Experience collaborating/working in a Centre of Excellence/Financial Shared Service Centre environment
- Previous Public accounting/auditing experience is required
- Experience in working within a start-up/transition environment will be an added advantage
Other Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and local accounting standards (French GAAP)
- Excellent business acumen including company, legal entity, regulatory and compliance requirements
- Good level of working knowledge of SAP, HFM is a plus
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookup and pivot tables
- Ability to work and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in different locations
- Demonstrate negotiating and influencing skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with ability to quickly and positively influence different levels of the organization
